Really Simple Syndication refers to XML files, easily read by a computer, that automatically update information. In real time an RSS feed updates you with events and changes on your favourite websites, blogs and podcasts, all in one place.

However, you cannot read the update feed without a feed reader. These are apps that go by names such as: Feedly, Feedreader, Feedspot, Flipboard and many more.

How to set up an RSS feed.
This may look complicated but it’s not. (This example is for Feedly:
  1. Copy the URL of an RSS feed (click on the logo RSS Feed at the bottom of the right hand column = https://www.conservationactionuk.org/1/feed).
  2. Paste the URL in the Feedly Search box and select the RSS feed from the list of sources.
  3. Select Follow.
  4. Select New Feed.
  5. Enter a descriptive name for the feed (e.g. Birds and Conservation).
  6. Select Create.
  7. In the left pane, select the RSS feed.
  8. Select the content you want to read.
